Meet the Directors
Founder & President, Naader Shagagi
Trained in Raja Yoga at the Self Realization Fellowship in Los Angeles, and Hatha Yoga at The Yoga College of India, Beverly Hills, Naader Shagagi has been studying and practicing Yoga & Meditation since 1983. A former Ph.D. Candidate in Engineering, Naader also studied Philosophy and Religion before coming to Los Angeles as a disciple of Paramahansa Yogananda in 1985.
A student of the great Yoga Master, Paramahansa Yogananda, and Sufi Mystic, Pir Inayat Khan, Naader brings a culmination of intensive study and personal experience presented to you through his Yoga of Mystics® philosophy.
Naader has taught yoga and meditation to over 30,000 people and has trained over 1,000 teachers through his Yoga of Mystics® teacher-training program. His DVDs, The Power of Hatha Yoga and Yoga of Mystics: Curative Series, teaches more than 60 positions that help people improve their concentration and sense of balance.
Director & Vice President, Carolina Cotman
Mrs. Cotman is a professional yoga instructor schooled in the arts of yoga and meditation, and is the Manager of Curative Yoga, LLC. Her duties are to direct and supervise all charitable activities of the Foundation; President and Director of the Foundation.
Inspired to practice yoga to set an example of living a balanced life for her children, Mrs. Cotman’s journey has taken her on a deeper path towards spirituality and guiding others seeking peace and harmony. While Mrs. Cotman has received her 200 Hour Certification from Yoga of Mystics®, she believes that a commitment to teaching yoga is a lifetime journey in which she sees the teacher in all, in particular her well-intended mother, mystical father, supportive and loving husband, strong willed daughter, affectionate son and her trustworthy teacher.
Director, Dan Cotman
Mr. Cotman is a practicing attorney licensed in the State of California, and the owner of Cotman IP Law Group, PLC. His duties are to direct and supervise all charitable activities of the Foundation; Chief Financial Officer, Secretary and Director of the Foundation.
Mr. Cotman holds a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from the University of New Hampshire’s Franklin Pierce Law Center, where he was a law review editor on the IDEA Journal of Law and Technology, The Intellectual Property Law Review. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Chapman University’s School of Mathematics and Computer Science as well as a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Chapman University. Mr. Cotman is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of California, the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit as well as the U.S. Federal District Courts for the Northern, Central, and Southern Districts of California.
Director, Ben Yeh
Mr. Yeh is an entrepreneur, venture capitalist and investment advisor. Formerly the Senior Investment Manager for Cherng Family Trust, Mr. Yeh has experience in real estate acquisitions and oversaw the alternative investments portfolio for the family office. His duties are to direct and supervise all charitable activities of the Foundation; Director of the Foundation.
Mr. Yeh graduated from Cornell University, where he received his Masters of Professional Studies in Real Estate with a concentration in Hospitality Finance. Mr. Yeh also holds a bachelor degree in Economics from University of California, Berkeley.
Director & Treasurer, Jenny Young
Jenny Young is a mother, partner, student of life and finance professional in the fields of banking, treasury, credit analysis and cash management with fortune 500 companies. She grew up in the Philippines where she passed the CPA board exams and graduated with degrees in Accounting and Communication Arts. She is a certified Treasury professional in the US and is an experienced corporate Treasury practitioner and banker.
Jenny’s personal transformation and spiritual journey has guided her to yoga. She has completed the 200 and 500 hour teacher’s training program and continues her asana and spiritual studies with the Yoga of Mystics School.
Secretary, Yan Weng
Yan Weng is a traveler, investor, financier, dream builder and energy healer. She is an expert in helping companies grow their business globally through billions of dollars in financing over the last two decades. She is currently the Vice President of Specialty
Division at City National Bank.
Yan has been a student of qigong and meditation for 20 years and yoga for over a decade. She loves helping people realize that they can feel better and have the energy to reach their full potential through her gifts in energy healing, enabling others to master and grow rich in all aspects of life.
Yan is a 500-hour certified yoga teacher, and certified Reiki Master on Dr. Usui System of Natural Healing. She holds a Master of Business Administration from IESE,
University of Navarra, Spain, and a Bachelor of Science from the University of
Binghamton, USA.
